HCS Collector Marketplace Rules
The Halloween Collectors Society Marketplace is a collector-to-collector venue for authentic pre-1970 Halloween collectibles. Please read these rules before listing an item or contacting a seller.
Who May Participate
Anyone may browse Marketplace listings. Active HCS members ($30/year) may submit items for sale and contact sellers or submit purchase inquiries through HCS. Marketplace listings are included with membership. There are no per-listing fees and HCS takes no commission.
Eligible Items
Listings must be for authentic Halloween collectibles manufactured before 1970. Reproductions, replicas, fantasy pieces, counterfeit items, newly manufactured items made to resemble vintage Halloween collectibles, and items that do not reasonably fit HCS's pre-1970 Halloween collecting focus are not permitted.
If an exact manufacturing year is genuinely unknown, a seller may use "Unknown - believed pre-1970" when there is a reasonable basis for that belief.
Listing Requirements
- Listings are fixed-price classifieds. Auctions and bidding are not part of the launch Marketplace.
- All listings require HCS moderator approval before publication.
- Sellers must provide an accurate description and disclose known damage, repairs, missing pieces, fading, tears, alterations, restoration, or other material condition issues.
- Listings should include at least two clear photographs. Additional photographs of the back, maker's marks, identifying details, damage, or repairs are encouraged.
- Sellers must provide shipping or local-pickup information and any geographic restrictions.
- Listings remain active for 60 days and may be renewed if the item remains available.
- Listing statuses are Available, Sale Pending, and Sold. Sellers should promptly mark an item Sold or request removal when it is no longer available.
Seller Certification
I certify that, to the best of my knowledge, this item is an authentic pre-1970 Halloween collectible and is not a reproduction, replica, fantasy piece or counterfeit. I have accurately disclosed the item's known condition and material facts.
Seller Acknowledgement
I understand that HCS provides the Marketplace as a collector-to-collector venue and is not the buyer, seller, payment processor, authenticator, shipper or guarantor of this transaction. I am responsible for communicating with the buyer and completing the transaction safely.
HCS Marketplace Disclaimer
The Halloween Collectors Society provides this Marketplace as a venue for collectors to connect. HCS is not a party to transactions between buyers and sellers and does not guarantee the authenticity, condition, value, payment, shipping or delivery of any item. Buyers and sellers are responsible for evaluating listings and completing transactions safely.
HCS reserves the right to reject or remove listings that violate these rules and to suspend Marketplace privileges in cases of abuse.
